Do I need a license for a cover song?

There are tons of answers out there. But everyone realised by now you can't track every song out there and then take it down. There was a time whenever you record a song that someone else wrote, you need to get permission from the copyright owners. Of course, you can still do that and you may release with them as well. But time has changed, some songs you should never cover, but most of the songs you can cover now, by just mention all the the writers and co-writers on the song release.
